【摘要】:Thisfire-test-responsestandardcoversameansfordeterminingthelethaltoxicpotencyofsmokeproducedfromamaterialorproductignitedwhileexposedtoaradiantheatfluxof50kW/mfor15min.Thistestmethodislimitedtotestspecimensnolargerthan76by127mm(3by5in.),withathicknessnogreaterthan51mm(2in.).Specimensareintendedtoberepresentativeoffinishedmaterialsorproducts,includingcompositeandcombinationsystems.Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletoend-usematerialsorproductsthatdonothaveplanar,ornearlyplanar,externalsurfaces.Lethaltoxicpotencyvaluesassociatedwith30-minexposuresarepredictedusingcalculationsthatusecombustionatmosphereanalyticaldataforcarbonmonoxide,carbondioxide,oxygen(vitiation)and,ifpresent,hydrogencyanide,hydrogenchloride,andhydrogenbromide.Thecalculationmethodisthereforelimitedtothosematerialsandproductswhosesmoketoxicitycanbeattributedtothesetoxicants.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandardmeasuresanddescribestheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliesinresponsetoheatundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardoffireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitations(particularlywithregardtothecareanduseofexperimentalanimals)priortouse.Forspecifichazardsstatements,seeSection7andNoteX1.1.
